The gig & platform economy poses significant questions, challenges and opportunities and Ai Group is will positioned to offer businesses the most up-to-date advice
Ai Group has a growing membership in the gig / platform sector. A number of the major platform businesses are members of Ai Group as well as various other businesses in this sector.
Ai Group represents this sector in workplace relations and other policy areas, and has regular sector meetings. Platform work provides many benefits to businesses, workers and the broader community and Ai Group works hard to preserve flexibility.
One piece of work has been the Food Delivery Platform Safety Principles. Leading food delivery platforms came together for the first time to strengthen safety practices across the industry.
DoorDash, Menulog, Uber Eats and Hungry Panda developed and regularly recommit to Australia’s first set of National Food Delivery Platform Safety Principles in consultation with Ai Group. The Safety Principles aim to minimise risk for all delivery workers, whether they are driving a car or riding a bicycle, e-Bike, scooter or motorbike.
They focus on issues such as training and information, delivery equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), and incident reporting and investigation. Download the Principles here
