Incident Notification Requirements
If you have had a serious injury or incident on your site, you may be required to notify the Work Health Safety Regulator immediately.
Ai Group can provide you with assistance in responding to these types of incidents, and in your dealings with a work health and safety inspector who may attend your site in response to an incident. It is important to recognise that, in addition to the initial response of an inspector to help ensure that a similar incident does not occur again, the inspector may also be collecting evidence to assist the regulator to initiate a prosecution against the organisation, and/or individuals, for failing to meet obligations under work health and safety laws.
For initial support contact our Workplace Advice Line on 1300 55 66 77. They may refer you to Ai Group Workplace Lawyers so that you can consider whether the activation of professional legal privilege would be advisable.
Industry specialists can help you to identify the Work Health Safety training needs for your business. Ai Group delivers training that can be customised to your organisations needs to assist with injury prevention and management. Ai Group also delivers the regulator approved HSR training.
Ai Group's input is regularly sought by governments and regulators who want to understand employers' views in areas that can be complex and challenging for business. The combination of our technical expertise, and the insight we gain from interaction with members, Ai Group can make a major contribution to improving legislation and its practical application.
