To facilitate effective consultation and communication, many organisation’s use the format of ‘toolbox talks’ to communicate information on hazards and how the organisation is managing the risks.
The Health & Safety Resource Centre Toolbox Talk topics provide standard information on hazard areas which can be shared with workers to enable discussion and provide an opportunity to consult on the best ways to manage the risks within the workplace.
Toolbox Talk information should be tailored to the workplace in accordance with this guidance material. Once the Toolbox Talk has been communicated and employees have been consulted and had their views heard, records of discussions and actions should be recorded on the Toolbox Talk Record Form.
