From 6 June 2023, the process for responding to an employee request for flexible working arrangements under the National Employment Standards (NES) was significantly changed. This flowchart shows the steps an employer must take in response to an employee request for a flexible working arrangement. Following these steps is critical, as disputes can be referred to the Fair Work Commission and breaches can result in civil penalties.
