The cyber security landscape is continuing to expand in breadth and complexity, threatening all aspects of modern organisation environments.

Small to medium-sized businesses often provide crucial products into a larger supply chain, and so are increasingly judged on how well they protect digital assets and manage their risk. Therefore, finding and addressing organisational weaknesses before cyber criminals do is critical to safeguarding an organisation’s data, customers, and business reputation.

This in-person training module aims to help small & medium business owners understand the current threat landscape and how it may affect their operations. It will provide an overarching cyber strategy as well as practical guidance on how to approach the overwhelming task of mitigating cyber threats to your organisation.

To further assist your organisation on the journey, all attendees on the day will have the opportunity to sign up for some one-on-one coaching assistance after the event. This additional benefit aims to help organisation build momentum on the cyber uplift journey.

Over the course of a day, the module will cover:

  • Current cyber threat landscape: who are they, how they operate, and what they want.
  • Understanding of what cyber threats may have the most financial, reputational, and legal impact on your business.
  • A risk-&-framework based approach to organisational cyber resilience, including:
    • What are security frameworks and how they can be useful.
    • Cyber protection vs Information protection.
    • The ACSC Essential Eight explained; why they are important.
    • Simple security measures you must have in place.
    • Manufacturing shop-floor (OT) security
    • Managing supply chain risk
    • Cyber Incident Response planning.
    • Board reporting; how can you measure cyber risk?
    • How your IT service provider can help, and how to measure their progress.
    • Where to start, especially when budgets are tight.

You will walk away with:

  • Everything needed to draft an actionable cyber security plan for your business.
  • Practical tips and guidance to help get started immediately.
  • An understanding of the main types of cyber-attack, and how to mitigate against them.
  • Understanding around them main cyber security frameworks, and whether they may be of use in your organisation.
  • Tips on working with vendors to assess and address supply chain cyber risks.
  • An extensive list of key resources, tools and frameworks.

Coaching opportunities

Course attendance includes the offer of one-to-one coaching after the training event. The one-to-one coaching sessions will be tailored to support participants’ specific cyber security challenges and improvement opportunities.

This face-to-face masterclass series module is designed for leaders, owners, and managers of business functions in manufacturing organisations, who are looking to understand the current threat environment and need assistance creating an actionable cyber plan. A limit of 2 people per organisation applies.
