Planning is the key to ensuring your health and safety arrangements work. It helps you think through the actions you have set out in your policy and determines how they will occur in practice. Consider:

  • what is to be achieved, e.g. how to ensure workers and others are kept healthy and safe at work;
  • how hazards will be identified, and whether enough is being done to prevent harm;
  • how any required improvements will be prioritised;
  • who will be responsible for health and safety tasks, what they should do, when, and with what results; and
  • how to measure and review safety initiatives and their impacts.
