With the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) the Australian Government requires larger businesses to prepare and submit an annual modern slavery statement about how modern slavery risks in their business and supply chain are identified and reduced. Businesses not required to report are also likely to be asked by their customers and suppliers how they implement modern slavery due diligence.
