On 30 September 2022, National Cabinet agreed to end mandatory isolation requirements for COVID-19 effective 14 October 2022, with each jurisdiction implementing the change via relevant public health legislation.

The Advice has been updated to reflect the announcements made to date by individual jurisdictions in relation to these changes. It should be noted that Victoria has adopted the change from 11.59pm on 12 October 2022, to coincide with the expiry of the pandemic declaration.

COVID-19 continues to be a health and safety issue for workplaces. Employers should review their COVID-9 safety plans, in consultation with workers, to ensure that appropriate controls continue to be in place.
