On 27 May 2021, the Australian Capital Territory Labour Hire Licensing Scheme commenced (ACT Licensing Scheme).

The ACT Licensing Scheme requires businesses that meet the definition of a labour hire provider to obtain a licence. The Scheme also requires businesses that use labour hire providers to only use licensed providers.

Businesses have until 27 November 2021 to either obtain a licence (if one is required) or to ensure they only use licensed providers.
