NAT 013/19: Fair Work Commission Annualised Wage Arrangements Decision:

On 4 July, a Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission (FWC) handed down an important decision in the Annualised Wage Arrangements Case, largely settling the terms of annualised wage arrangement clauses in around 20 awards.

Each of the awards will be varied to insert one of three new model clauses which will replace existing annualised salary clauses in the awards. The three new model clauses are a lot more onerous for employers and will impose detailed obligations regarding record-keeping and the periodic reconciliation of hours worked against hours paid.

The awards that will be varied include the Clerks – Private Sector Award 2010 and the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010.
