"NSW today outlined its ambitions to reopen Sydney's international border by November while Victoria announced plans to reopen playgrounds. It says it all really," Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group said today.

“Within two hours of each other, Premier Gladys Berejiklian raised the hopes of millions in the State as she spoke of opening the NSW border to the world while Premier Dan Andrews offered to move the border around households from 5K to 10K and eased a number of other restrictions such as reopening playgrounds that should never have been shut.

"Our two largest states need to get on the same page as soon as possible and this will be best achieved by Victoria raising its aspirations for COVID freedom beyond such small mercies.

"If the aim is to shut many more businesses in the State, Victoria is moving in the right direction," Mr Willox said.
