"The announcement that some state governments will reopen their state borders is most welcome," Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group, said today.
"We need to get the borders open fully so that our economy gets back to normal more quickly to help boost investment and support jobs.
"Businesses within border communities in particular will be relieved that there is an end in sight to the border barriers and mandatory quarantine periods. Companies with national operations that have been putting off travel and deferring investments may also be encouraged to plan for the ramping up of their operations.
"The sooner we can restore the full movement of people and goods in our country the better it will be for our recovery," Mr Willox said.
