Business and industry will be supported under a new Australian Government employment service starting on Monday.

Known as Workforce Australia, the service — replacing jobactive — will provide tailored recruitment and workforce planning, streamlining how businesses find and hire the right people with the right skills.

Pre-employment programs to trial suitable job seekers, post placement support and financial incentives will be offered, while administration and red tape will be reduced to simplify and accelerate the recruitment process.

New online services will deliver personalised support and improved matching and shortlisting based on workforce needs.

Using this new digital platform, jobseekers and businesses can connect and manage their own employment needs.

A new network of Workforce Specialists will provide business and industry with access to additional support packages for specific tailored projects to connect job seekers to large employers, key industries and occupations with high demand for workers.

It is hoped Workforce Australia will better support both individuals and businesses and transform the way employment and skills services are delivered.
