This workshop has been specifically designed and developed for members of the bargaining committee who are going to work towards negotiating an Enterprise Agreement under the Fair Work Act. The workshop will skill up the members for the committee to work pro-actively as a committee and make a workable agreement. 

The workshop’s aim is to ensure the committee members have current and up to knowledge of the bargaining process under the Fair Work Act and how best to negotiate. 

The workshop can also be delivered to only employee or management representatives. 

Enterprise Bargaining 

  • Identify the stages on the bargaining process under the Fair Work Act.
  • Identify what can and cannot be included in enterprise agreement.
  • Identify and discuss the agreement making process.
  • Identify and discuss the good faith bargaining requirements.
  • Identify and discuss the Enterprise agreement approval process. 

Group Dynamics and Behaviour 

  • Identify problems that committee’s can face. 
  • Determine stages of committee development. 
  • Identify and discuss methods to reduce communication barriers. 
  • Identify and discuss reasons for conflict and strategies to resolve. 
  • Apply consensus and discuss its benefits.
  • Identify and discuss negotiation styles and steps.
  • Discuss different problem solving process, tools and techniques.
  • Identify the steps in planning and conducting a committee meeting.
