CSIRO’s new Generation STEM Links program provides industry with early access to their potential future employees as interns, with $2,500 per student payable to participating businesses after completion of the internship. It is offered to NSW students in their penultimate to final year of study, in STEM degrees and qualifications, that would benefit most from a work placement experience. Students are required to participate in a paid, 200-hour placement, that is supported by Generation STEM.

The Generation STEM Links team can provide assistance with framing ideas into projects and will aid the application process. They then match the most suitable student with the industry partner. They then continue to provide on‑the‑ground support for onboarding, induction, and regular check ins throughout the placement.
