A number of companies have responded to the Australian Energy Employment Report (AEER) national survey launched by the Australian Government in February. By responding, these businesses have provided data on the types and volumes of jobs they have, their learning and development needs and initiatives, and a snapshot of workforce diversity.

The important data will shape new government initiatives and support industry-led workforce planning, support business opportunities and direct industry investment. When the survey reaches full-scale, the government will be able to determine sector size and facilitate projections vital for future planning.

The online survey is open to businesses in, or supporting, the energy sector, including:

  • Electricity (including Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Storage)
  • Energy Retailing (including electricity and gas)
  • Energy trade services (Including general electrical, Solar PV and Batteries, Heating Cooling Ventilation Air conditioning (HVAC) and Hot Water)
  • Fuels (Extraction, Processing, Production, and Distribution).
  • Managing energy use (including energy management, demand management and technologies, products, materials and services that reduce energy consumption such as low energy construction and energy-saving appliances and equipment);
  • Supporting services and sector development (including consulting, finance, tax, legal, advocacy, policy and education).

Businesses included in the description above are urged to complete the survey by visiting https://bit.ly/aeersurvey. It closes on Sunday 30 April.
