Here is an important opportunity for employers to have your say about the vocational education and training system.

The Survey of Employers’ Use and Views of the VET System is managed by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and gathers vital information about employer’s training needs and their satisfaction with the training their employees receive from the vocational education and training (VET) system.

First conducted in 2005, the survey runs every 2 years and aims to interview over 6,000 employers across Australia. The survey collects information on whether:

  • organisations have jobs that require formal vocational qualifications,
  • organisations have apprentices and trainees, and
  • employees have undertaken any other nationally recognised training, or unaccredited training.

The survey runs through until mid-June 2023 and results from this survey will be publicly available from November 2023.

Results from the last survey undertaken in 2021 told us that over 50% of employers made use of the nationally accredited VET system and around 80% are satisfied with nationally recognised training. Whether you are large or small, employ or don’t employ staff, your response is important.
