Margo has over 25 years’ experience in WHS practices, business ownership and management in a diverse group of small to medium businesses.

Margo’s extensive knowledge and experience gives her the insight and understanding to help you develop solutions, and deliver on business needs, expectations, and outcomes.

Margo’s passion for business and safety started when she bought into the management rights industry, owning, and operating a large 4.5-star hotel which included employing a large cohort of employees to maintain and help with every aspect of the operation of running the hotel. Margo was also an active member of the body corporate committee which represented over 100 committee members.

After the sale of the Management Rights, Margo continued to own and operate several businesses which included a motel, caravan park and numerous cafés and restaurants.   

In addition to owning and operating businesses Margo has also managed and worked in other industries. A chef by trade and qualified WHS professional, Margo’s skills enabled her to work for a large multinational Facilities Management company where she was employed as a Work Health and Safety Advisor/Lead in the Mining Industry (oil & gas). This is where Margo was able to use her skills from her business experience and WHS qualifications.

Prior to joining AI Group, Margo was engaged as a Senior WHS Programs Officer in local government (Council) Margo led and delivered a program of works to ensure the Safety Management System (SMS) aligned with contemporary safety practices and performed its intended use. A review and declutter of Council’s current SMS involved a journey of developing and implementing a contemporary online SMS.

• Return to Work support by helping business minimise the impact of work-related injury & illness by assisting with return to work best practice and processes.
• Assisting in Emergency and Evacuation Planning by developing effective emergency evacuation plans for responding to any emergency quickly and safely.
• Training Needs Analysis to help identify the training needs in the business to encourage and improve employee job safety and performance.
• Change Management strategies to develop effective change strategies for future growth of safety in the business.
• Simplification of contractor management processes to provide contractor accountability in WHS practices.
