"While Queensland is looking for more detail before committing to the NEG, its support for the principles of delivering more certainty in energy policy are most encouraging.
"While detail on the NEG remains a work-in-progress, with further consultation, collaboration and state government support to develop a functional and efficient design the NEG has the potential to be a workable solution to support investment.
"We need a cooperative national approach to energy policy. We encourage Queensland and the other states and territories to continue to progress work on the NEG in the interests of a national consistent energy policy that will support investment and help drive down the energy prices that are sapping profits across industry and driving up household energy costs," Mr Willox said.
