The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group®) is a peak employer organisation representing traditional, innovative and emerging industry sectors around the country. A truly national organisation, Ai Group has a strong presence in Queensland, providing a range of services out of Brisbane and Townsville.

Industry representation

Ai Group's Queensland staff sit on a number of state advisory bodies, ensuring the voice of industry is heard by decision makers. These include:

  • Ministerial Energy Council — the peak forum between government and industry about issues and opportunities for the energy sector. This also includes co-chairing the Renewables sub-committee.
  • Small Business Industry Roundtable — a regular forum with the Qld Small Business Commissioner to provide updates relevant to small businesses and industry feedback on issues affecting small businesses throughout the state.
  • Infrastructure Industry Steering Committee — seeks to drive collaboration between industry and government to create a more sustainable industry and deliver better value for money for infrastructure investment.
  • Energy Queensland Customer & Community Council — its purpose is to explore strategic issues and other matters relating to current and emerging needs of customers and community in relation to energy infrastructure, services and the provision of energy solutions across Queensland.
  • Brisbane 2032 Industry Advisory Group — working with other leading member-based organisations and the Queensland Government to ensure effective and sustainable procurement opportunities for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

  • Jobs Townsville North Queensland — a Regional Jobs Committee bringing together industry groups, training providers, employers, employee representatives and councils to help plan local training investment so it matches local skill needs and drives regional job creation.
  • NQ Jobs and Skills Taskforce — members meet regularly to develop a shared understanding of the region and solutions to help more North Queenslanders connect with quality job opportunities and improve their skills and to assist employers to meet their labour and skills needs.
  • North Queensland Defence Industry and Infrastructure Working Group (terms of reference to come)
  • Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) Strategic Advisory Group — providing industry-driven advice to MSQ regarding skills and training strategies for the Queensland manufacturing sector.
  • Renewables Supply Chain Group of the Manufacturing Ministerial Council ( RSCG) — providing industry advice on strategic matters relating to the contribution Queensland’s manufacturing industry can have in renewable energy production.
  • The Regional School Industry Partnership (RSIP) program State Reference Group — providing strategic support and guidance for the program. It will develop approaches to promote sustainable school–industry partnerships and consider challenges and opportunities and ways to maximise partnership outcomes that prioritise students.
