No place for sexual harassment in the workplace

"There is no place for sexual harassment in the workplace and the National Inquiry announced today by the Sex Discrimination Commissioner will hopefully provide further advice for employers on best practice strategies to create safe and harmonious workplaces," Ai Group Chief Executive, Innes Willox, said today.

"Employers overwhelmingly work hard to provide workplaces where harassment is not tolerated and have in place action plans to prevent or deal with such behaviour should it arise. It will be important for the inquiry to hear from employers who do things well and have been effective in transforming workplace culture.

"The methodology used in the inquiry will be particularly important as will an understanding by the inquiry of how harassment is dealt with through workplace laws.

"Ai Group will be liaising with the Commissioner and providing whatever support is necessary for this important inquiry," Mr Willox said.
