Rating Scales are used to provide an overall measurement of how well an employee has performed against the set objectives, competencies and targets formed during the performance planning process. Assigned ratings normally link and relate to reward and recognition decisions, such as remuneration changes. They also signal and inform job enrichment or enhancement, career development and succession planning opportunities.
