The supply of well skilled young people into the manufacturing and engineering industry of the Region is vital for our future growth and development. The Hunter region in particular has a strong community base for trade training and appreciation of engineering and related occupations. Ai Group works with representatives from manufacturing, TAFE, University of Newcastle; NSW Department of Education, Catholic Education Office, State Training Services, Community Partnerships and Group Training Organisations to promote traditional apprenticeships, engineering careers and to encourage employers to participate in upskilling of their existing workforce.

The Network supports collaborative ventures by Regional Partners such as the RDA Hunter "ME Program" which has delivered significant uptake of STEM subjects by high school students in the years since 2011. The Network is vitally concerned that we have a healthy skills pipeline into the future on which to build higher technology products and services. This is also vital for the development of global supply chains using digital technology.

Meetings are held quarterly.
