The Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 and the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Protecting Worker Entitlements) Act 2023 made extensive changes to parental leave entitlements under the Fair Work Act 2009.

As the changes are already in effect, it's imperative employers are across their obligations. This two-part webinar will assist employers in navigating the significant implications for employers, including the new processes required for compliance with the time-critical response obligations.

The second webinar in this two-part series will:

  • Provide a brief recap of Part 1 which set out:
    – the key changes to unpaid parental leave PL under the Fair Work Act and changes relating to the Government's Paid Parental Leave scheme and superannuation entitlements;
    – practical guidance and recommendations as to UPL eligibility, resourcing options to manage flexibilities, and navigating UPL and flexible working requests; and
    – the resources and templates available to Ai Group's members through the HR Resource Centre.
  • Take a look at relevant cases as examples of approaches employers could follow and those to avoid.
  • Answer questions that arose out of Part 1.
  • Consider possible scenarios and discuss pragmatic options and solutions.
  • Set out key takeaways from both Parts 1 and 2 of the series.

This webinar series on parental leave is ideal for HR managers, HR staff and operational managers, who are employee points of contact for parental leave requests and flexible working arrangements.

This webinar has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations through the Productivity, Education and Training Fund grant program.
