Where relevant, all organisations should conduct a risk assessment for all hazardous chemicals used, stored and produced on site in consultation with the appropriate workers.
The risk assessment will require an understanding of the chemical, its use and the hazards associated with exposure and the results can be recorded in the ‘Hazardous Chemicals Risk Assessment Form’.
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) should reviewed and used to complete Part A. For assistance in getting copies of SDSs, please contact the Ai Group's Safety and Workers' Compensation Team.
The risk assessment should be reviewed regularly, for example when chemicals used are changed, when the classification of substances changes or when SDSs are due to be renewed.
