Ensuring proper considerations are taken into account (see our COVID-19: Pandemic Planning Guide for more information), businesses performing temperature measurements to detect possibly ill employees need to consider the following:

  • Taking temperature measurements daily, upon entering the site, for all workers, contractors and visitors attending the company’s sites.
  • Persons taking temperature measurements must respect the social distance of 1.5m minimum, they must wear a face mask (P2 preferred), gloves and safety glasses before taking any temperature measurements.
  • A non-contact infrared thermometer will be used to measure the temperature of the person entering the site, typically the measurement will be taken from the forehead or temple.
  • Temperature monitoring log must be filled in for each temperature reading taken.
