A recruitment freeze can occur for many different reasons. The desire to put a recruitment freeze into place is usually driven by financial drivers. Sometimes this may be because of the challenging current financial position of the business, or it can be done to safeguard the business against financial loss due to things like a disruptor in the competitive market, an impending sale of the business or due to extreme circumstances like a health pandemic e.g. COVID -19. This sample template can be used by employers to contact applicants that are currently within a recruitment process. Employers may also like to consider placing a recruitment freeze statement on their company career page.
