In the Australian Capital Territory, the Listening Devices Act 1992 (LD Act) restricts the use of audio surveillance. In addition, the Workplace Privacy Act 2011 (WP Act) regulates visual, tracking or computer surveillance of employees.

The ACT has one of the most prescriptive surveillance regimes in Australia, with strict requirements for notice, signage and consultation before surveillance is introduced in a workplace.
