Creating a workplace culture that is harmonious and free from discrimination, harassment and bullying can minimise the risks associated with employee complaints, as well as improving employee satisfaction, morale and productivity.

A positive, inclusive culture can contribute to an organisation earning a reputation as an employer of choice which can assist in attracting and retaining skilled employees.

It is important that an employer is able to demonstrate that all reasonable steps have been taken to prevent discrimination, harassment or bullying from occurring. What constitutes reasonable steps may vary depending on the circumstances, including the size of the organisation, but having a well developed, communicated and practiced Discrimination, Harassment & Bullying Policy is strongly encouraged.
