The use of surveillance in the workplace is regulated by surveillance devices legislation in each state. Workplace surveillance may include:

  • visual surveillance, eg video cameras
  • listening devices, eg mobile phones used to record conversations
  • tracking devices, eg a GPS tracker installed in a company vehicle
  • computer surveillance, eg monitoring the websites accessed on company computers.
