During this phase of the performance management cycle, managers and employees should be clear as to what their objectives are and the expected standards that need to be achieved relating to those objectives.

The employee should be performing the duties and responsibilities of their role according to the parameters as agreed in the Performance Development Plan, with the manager monitoring performance and providing support and feedback by comparing actual performance against the agreed performance objectives.
