The National Employment Standards (NES) include a right for eligible employees to request flexible working arrangements from their employer. This request may only be refused on ‘reasonable business grounds’.
An employee must formally request a flexible working arrangement in writing and provide information on the change or changes they would like to make and the reasons for doing so. The following Workplace Flexibility Request Form can be used by employers when their employees wish to request a flexible working arrangement.
