Under the National Employment Standards, employees who are eligible to take unpaid parental leave must first apply to take leave by giving appropriate notice to their employer. The following Parental Leave Confirmation – Letter can be used by employers to confirm an employee’s request for leave, the relevant dates and the process for extending or shortening the leave.
