Ron has been a Lean practitioner and senior manager for over 20 years. With an engineering background and a skill for business turnarounds, Ron has leveraged the principles of Lean to transform the performance and culture of businesses of all shapes and sizes.

Ron actively engages and mentors’ stakeholders of all levels and disciplines within a business, from the Board Room, through the Operations, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Quality, Finance, and HR functions, through to the most junior staff.

Ron’s Lean foundations developed during 16 years with Boeing in Sydney, Melbourne, and Seattle.

He was trained by Lean experts in Australia and U.S.A, including direct mentoring by world-renowned Japanese ex-Toyota lean specialists engaged by Boeing.

Ron then led the implementation of quality and Lean initiatives into Chubb Australasia, utilising their parent company’s United Technologies Corporations Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) program, which is one of the most successful in-house lean and quality programs in the world.

Through an array of diverse roles, Ron has encountered the trials and tribulations of leveraging lean principles to overhaul the culture and performance of businesses. His roles have seen his span of control to include multi-site responsibilities, $96M annual turnover, and 256 employees.

EGR Inc. Case Study
EGR Inc. is a fast-growing manufacturer of Automotive accessories. EGR manufacture a wide range of moulded aftermarket accessories. I coached EGR Inc. to develop and implement an efficient and reliable operations management system. A value stream map was used to help understand their product flow, eliminate waste and decreased lead times.

TXM support at EGR Inc. delivered spectacular business improvements over 18 months.

  • Achievement of a 45% revenue growth using the same space, equipment and overhead resources.
  • 35% reduction in Made-To-Stock Finished Goods and 58% improvement in Inventory Turns.

ATCO Structures & Logistics
ATCO Structures & Logistics produce temporary buildings and structures for the construction industry in Australia since 1961. They wanted help with their Perth facility implementing a new Greenfields Layout and sessions designed to map the current and future states.

TXM support at ATCO Structures and Logistics delivered large cost savings and reduced lead times.

  • Reduced the size of the roofing from 21,000 sqm to 15,000 sqm,
  • Working roof height was lower by 2 metres enabling standard trusses to be used.
  • Capital savings of over 6 million dollars.
  • Removal of 4 100 metre 10-ton cranes
  • Reduction in concrete used from 40 to 20 tonnes
  • Increased capacity from 6 floors to 13 floors a day
