Craig has been working with businesses for the last 24 years; buying and selling product around the world. Having worked extensively in developing countries, Craig uses his knowledge, experience and connections to assist businesses to grow in a global marketplace. For most of the last 17 years Craig have been working as an Export Adviser with Ai Group and Austrade assisting over 800 small/medium businesses to export their products and services from a wide range of industry sectors.
Craig is currently the Growth Facilitator for the Entrepreneurs’ Program looking after Food/Agri and Advanced Manufacturing sectors in Gippsland, Victoria.
A small technology manufacturer in Victoria was looking to expand into the export market and didn’t know where to start. They had received a lot of interest in their products through their website and wanted to make sure they entered the overseas markets in a way that maximised their exposure. Craig worked with the company to ensure they understood the issues in selling into other markets, in particular marketing, logistics, regulations and finance. Craig conducted market research to determine where there was a market for their products and worked with the company to determine what was the best way to enter each market.
In this case it was by connecting them with substantial overseas building project managers and selected distributors. Craig also connected the company with various state and federal assistance programs to reduce their costs to enter the market and connect the company to potential customers in the market. The company is now selling into a number of markets and has set up operations in the Middle East and the USA.
The cost of Craig’s input to this project was covered under the Austrade TradeStart program, separate to any legal and accounting advice they obtained.
