Anil's whole career has been focused on helping business owners and managers to better understand how to grow and develop their businesses. As a trained accountant with a Masters of Management degree, Anil has held financial management and commercial management roles in large and small businesses both here and overseas. He has a wealth of experience across a wide range of industries and has been running his own business coaching and consulting firm since 2005.
Anil specialises in helping businesses in the areas of strategic planning, team development, productivity and profit improvement. He has developed practical and powerful models that he implements in partnership with his clients and their teams, while focusing on developing the skills of the management team. This leads to lasting and ongoing improvements in business direction, team dynamics, business processes and overall business management practices.
A national import / distribution business was undergoing rapid growth. The owners felt that they were losing control of the business and that they needed more structure and better management practices to improve profitability and to put in place proper foundations for continued growth. Anil worked with the owners and the management team to identify the key issues and priorities, agree on the common goals and create an implementation plan for each department manager. This has led to improved profitability, a reduced workload for the owners and management team, plus happier staff and an easier business to manage.
A commercial construction company that had previously worked with Anil re-engaged him to help them review their senior management team structure and business management practices. Anil held a workshop to clearly map out the organisation structure (both now and for the future) including the key responsibilities of each manager and the key team members. He also helped to create key measures (KPI’s) for each manager, key priorities for the business and a simple scorecard system to track the progress of these KPI’s and the departmental goals. This has led to clearer roles, accountability and business results.
A business that designs, manufactures and installs air-conditioning ducting systems needed help to assess the viability of moving to larger premises and investing in upgraded equipment. Anil did a strategic assessment of the business to analyse the benefits and risks of moving to larger premises and investing in new equipment. This led to the eventual move to a larger factory which has allowed the business to expand and capture a greater share of the market plus it has improved production efficiency and profit margins. Anil continues to work with the managers as the business continues to grow.
