The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is not only Australia’s most popular and iconic sporting ground – it's also a leader in environmental sustainability.
In this webinar presented by Environment Connect, Peter Wearne, the Melbourne Cricket Club General Manager – Facilities, outlined the journey the Melbourne Cricket Ground has taken to become a leader in the environmental space. The MCG has focused on reducing waste to landfill and recycling with an innovative and world-class waste management system.
Following Peter's presentation, we also heard from Lee Miezis, Chief Executive Officer at the Environment Protection Authority Victoria. As Victoria has introduced new environmental laws the EPA has updated guidance for industry in the waste and recycling area. Mr Miezis provided an update on how industry can adopt and work with the new laws in the State.
