The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) welcomed the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed cost recovery fees under the mandatory and suspensory merger control system to take effect from 1 July 2026.
Ai Group does not support the introduction of full cost recovery fees for the merger applications, and contends that government should appropriately fund this expansion in the function of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
