"This election result hasn't magicked away the problems and challenges and issues that Australia faces as we try and struggle to become more prosperous and to do better for ourselves. So, the Government has immense challenges ahead. They were elected very clearly and they deserve congratulations for that election. But now the hard work begins.
"It was pleasing to hear the Treasurer Jim Chalmers this morning talk about putting productivity first. So, let's put that to the test over the next three years. Let's see if the Government is as good as its word. There are huge challenges when it comes to productivity, and productivity growth means prosperity. So, we have policy settings at the moment which are inimicable to productivity: the industrial relations settings, the unreliability and cost of energy, the regulation that is strangling business at the moment. We're in an economy where 151,000 businesses went out of business last year."
