On 20 May, the Fair Work Ombudsman published an updated version of the Casual Employment Information Statement. Employers must give the Casual Employment Information Statement to all casual employees before, or as soon as practicable after, commencement of employment. The Statement must also be given to existing casual employees.

The Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that the Government intends to introduce legislation into Parliament by the end of June to address recommendations of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces conducted by the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins. The recommendations are set out in the AHRC’s January 2020 Respect@Work Report.
