On 23 November 2022, Members were advised (in NAT 131/22) of an error in relation to the temporary fuel surcharge rates (Rates) applicable to pay periods that commenced from 17 October to 20 November 2022 (October to November Period).
The error was in the orders made by the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) on 14 November 2022, which contained Rates for the October to November Period that were inconsistent with and higher than those issued in the preceding month for the same period.
On finding the error, Ai Group contacted the Transport Workers’ Union and, with their consent, made an application to the IRC for the error to be corrected. The IRC has since issued orders correcting the error, with the correct Rates being backdated to apply from 14 November 2022 (i.e. the date the incorrect Rates were issued).
