On 17 November 2022, members were advised of the recent amendments to the temporary fuel surcharge rates (NAT 130/22). In that advice, the temporary fuel surcharge rates (Rates) applicable to pay periods commencing 21 November to 18 December 2022 (November to December Period) and 17 October to 20 November 2022 (October to November Period) were set out.

Ai Group has since identified an error in relation to the Rates applicable to the October to November Period. The error is in the orders made by the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission (IRC), which contain Rates for the October to November Period that are inconsistent with and higher than those issued last month for the same period.

On finding the error, Ai Group has contacted the Transport Workers’ Union and, with their consent, made an application to the IRC for the error to be corrected. The proposed correction will ensure that the Rates applicable to the October to November Period are consistent with the IRC’s earlier orders.
