In the 2019-20- Budget, the Federal Government announced the expansion of Single Touch Payroll (STP). STP Phase 2 includes the extension of the data collected by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the use of this data by Commonwealth agencies.

STP Phase 2 is intended to reduce employers’ compliance burden. It will commence on 1 January 2022.
