"We look forward to working with the new Shadow front bench announced today," said Innes Willox, Chief Executive of national employer association the Australian Industry Group.
"A policy-focused opposition that holds a government to account, no matter which party holds the role, is crucial to a well-functioning democracy.
"We look forward to working with the opposition, as well as the government, to help inform policy development that builds Australia's security, prosperity and resilience. The role of highly competitive and successful Australian industry is crucial to achieving those three vital objectives.
"Given global volatility and domestic economic conditions, this is an exceedingly tough time to be in businesses. We need a serious reform agenda with boosting productivity at its core to help all Australians navigate these difficult times.
"As well as working with Liberal Leader Sussan Ley and Nationals leader David Littleproud, we particularly look forward to dealing with shadow ministers across the economy in areas such as industry policy, energy, education and skills, national security, trade and infrastructure.
"The economy is growing at its slowest pace since we were last in recession in the early 1990s, business investment is declining, we have an inefficient tax system and we need to seriously address our workforce shortages if we want to achieve key national ambitions such as housing availability and affordability, decarbonisation and digitalisation," Mr Willox said.
