Kirsty has more than 8 years’ experience in Work Health Safety (“WHS”) and Injury Management working in small to large businesses within the automotive and metals manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, and logistics, corporate, retail, hospitality, and airline industries in Australia and overseas.

In her previous roles, Kirsty has assisted businesses in identifying critical risks and gaps in a variety of areas such as safety compliance, workplace culture, managing ill and injured employees, and developing and rolling out career transition training.

Most recently, Kirsty has been a valued member of Ai Group’s Workplace Advice Line offering members advice and assistance using her prized problem-solving techniques with many of their queries relating to WHS, Human Resources and Workplace Relations issues. This well-rounded and practical experience has complemented her formal training and qualifications to offer employers sustainable solutions to improve their WHS outcomes and performance.

In addition to these skills, Kirsty has participated in numerous lean continuous improvement activities and appreciates the importance of having a holistic view of business operations. When working with employers, she considers all the factors affecting business (people, operations, environment, business conditions, safety, and quality) to assist you to become more productive, efficient, profitable, and most importantly safer.

As a strong believer in consultation and engagement with key stakeholders, Kirsty encourages business leaders to “walk the talk”, actively engaging and consulting with employees to show a commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment. Workers will feel heard, supported, valued, and actively contribute towards a safe workplace.

Kirsty can work with you to:

  • Review your safety compliance through workplace inspections
  • Solve safety issues and establish effective risk control measures that work
  • Develop safety procedures, work instructions and processes which are integrated into your business operations
  • Facilitate risk assessments on your critical risks whilst also upskilling your workers so they too, can do them in the future
  • Undertake manual handling and ergonomic assessments (she can even help you to upskill your workers using a ‘train the trainer’ approach)
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations when injuries or incidents occur
  • Develop and facilitate WHS training and coach employees, health and safety representatives and Supervisors and Managers
  • Review your plant and equipment to ensure you have adequate guarding and safety measures
  • Identify any critical risks associated with new technology, including robotics
  • Develop programs to effectively manage Labour Hire employees and Contractors
  • Use change management processes to effectively implement your change program
  • Provide Health and Wellbeing programs which focus on improving psychological health in and out of the workplace
  • Manage ill and injured workers when issues arise and provide you with the skills to return injured workers back into the workplace safely
  • Identify your current safety and people culture through surveys
  • Establish processes to manage your ageing workforce

Kirsty’s role is to actively engage and work with you to help you understand your responsibilities and critical business risks, and to provide practical ways to address a range of health and safety related matters within your workplace and work towards continuous improvement.
