Ai Group and Queensland University of Technology are seeking expressions of interest from members to participate in training courses tailored to the needs of defence industry suppliers. These courses will be fully funded by the Department of Defence under the Skilling Australia's Defence Industry (SADI) funding scheme.

The courses are to be offered at a 'Masterclass' level of 20 hours duration. All courses are self-paced online as well as by virtual facilitation. Participants will receive a QUT Certificate of Achievement (Advanced Professional Practice) co-branded with Ai Group. A select number of courses may contribute towards advanced standing in the QUT MBA program if desired as a pathway.

The proposed courses are:

  • Strategic Workforce Planning
  • Leading Complex Projects
  • Procurement Practices in Defence
  • Strategic Intellectual Property Management in Defence Procurement
  • Systems Engineering Leadership
  • Strategically Managing Project Risk
  • Sourcing and Contracting Strategies in Defence Projects
  • Strategic Leadership of Supplier Relationships.

Details of the courses can be found here.

Through an expression of interest survey, Ai Group and QUT are seeking an indication of general interest as well as companies’ prioritisation of the suite of QUT courses in order to submit a funding submission to the Department of Defence. This survey will be your organisation’s view on which of the proposed courses are of highest priority to your workforce. You are also asked to indicate the potential number of participants from your organisation – at this stage no commitment is required.

For further information, view a short briefing video from Dr Peter Beven, Director QUTeX Open Professional Education.

To express your interest in undertaking the training, please complete and submit your response here. Please note expressions of interest close on 25 August.
