The Pet Food Industry Association of Australia (PFIAA) was established in 1972 to promote standards of excellence in the pet food industry in Australia. The PFIAA advocate to government on regulatory challenges facing the industry and support the introduction of a mandatory standard for the manufacture and marketing of pet food in Australia.

The key aims of the PFIAA are: providing members with all relevant information about the import/export regulations affecting pet food and pet food ingredients; responding to specific queries directly related to a member's activities; and to influence the ongoing development of standards and regulatory controls to support animal health and wellbeing objectives.
