A skilled workforce is the key to a company’s competitive position, but the increasing demands placed on companies by the modern economy coupled with the complexity of the training system can mean that companies are not able to tap into the productivity growth which can flow from skills building. This is especially the case for small and medium sized companies without dedicated workforce development staff.
The Victorian Government has committed $52 million to support Victorian-based companies with up to 200 staff members to access independent workforce planning and training specialists FREE of charge.
The Australian Industry Group has joined with Victoria University to form a consortium – Skilling Business – to deliver these services.
Skilling Business advisors will come to your premises and work with you to: - Identify the strategic priorities for your business
- Assess workforce skills and training needs of your staff
- Identify the appropriate training options for your business
- Provide clear and practical tailored training plans and
- Facilitate the placement of your staff into accredited vocational education and training.
Skilling Business delivers services across Victoria and works with companies on their technical training needs and also their supervisory and management training needs.
What are the benefits for your business?
Access to a workforce with the skills needed by your business will increase productivity, reduce inefficiencies, improve safety and build competitiveness.
Staff retention levels are improved when employees are appropriately skilled for the job and when their skills are being utilised.
