Ai Group's International Trade Policy team is responsible for advocating industry’s view to the Australian Government as it negotiates market access for Australian goods and services via a range of bilateral, regional and global forums. As a result, Ai Group works closely with Government and member companies to ensure industry's specific interests are safeguarded.
The Australian Government is currently negotiating multilateral agreements under the World Trade Organisation, and bilateral agreements with Japan, China and Malaysia.

Review of Australia New Zealand Closer Economic Relations Trade Agreement (ANZCERTA) Rules of Origin (ROO) A review of the ANZCERTA ROO is currently underway. As part of the review process, a draft proposed ANZCERTA ROO schedule has been prepared to identify areas within the current ROO that may require amendment and has been made publicly available for consultation. The schedule can be accessed online at the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research website. Negotiations between Australian and New Zealand officials on the ANZCERTA ROO review will commence shortly. Any changes to the ROO are expected to be implemented by 1 January 2010.
