Education and Training Advisers

The Commonwealth Government supports the placement of Education and Training Advisers (ETAs) within the Australian Industry Group to keep you informed of developments in the National Training System, and to help you use the system to employ apprentices, trainees and cadets and to address your current and future skill needs.

What can an Education and Training Adviser do for you?
ETA services are wide ranging and include all aspects of identifying, funding, customising and implementing training programs from the National Training System i.e. Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Cadetships, and Diplomas etc.  Examples of these services include helping employers to:

• broker successful partnerships with training providers;
• identify financial incentives to support training programs;
• resolve complaints about the training with appropriate authorities;
• assist companies to pilot training initiatives;
• apply for funding for innovative programs;
• implement competency standards;
• access specialised training such as “Lean or Competitive Manufacturing”;
• establish links with  Industry/School programs; and
• participate in relevant industry surveys and forums that address training issues.

Education and Training Advisers will also keep you informed of any new policies, initiatives or funding opportunities.
